Software license
Racing Control EULA.
Effective September 19, 2026
This End User License Agreement applies to Hot Lap Racing Control and its accompanying components, updates and documentation. By installing, activating or using the software, you accept this EULA and the Terms of Service.
License grant
Hot Lap grants the purchasing customer a limited, non-exclusive, perpetual and non-transferable license to install and use Racing Control on one active rig for each license seat purchased. “Perpetual” means the purchased license does not expire; it does not promise that every online service, third-party integration or future operating system will remain available forever.
Commercial use
The license may be used to operate the customer's own sim racing venue, rental, event, activation or permanent installation. It may not be resold, sublicensed, rented as standalone software or used to provide an unauthorized hosted software service to another operator.
Activation
Each seat uses a one-time setup code and a device-bound rig credential. A copied code or credential may not be activated on a second rig. A seat may be transferred to genuine replacement hardware through the customer account or support. Hot Lap may require reasonable verification and may block credentials linked to fraud, duplication or tampering.
Restrictions
You may not share activation credentials, defeat seat limits, bypass security, reverse engineer or modify the software except where applicable law expressly permits it, remove ownership notices, submit false telemetry, interfere with result integrity, or use the software for unlawful activity.
Telemetry and results
Racing Control reads information made available by a compatible simulator and may store session, car, track, lap, result and device information locally. When network results are enabled, authorized race data is sent to Hot Lap services for leaderboards, driver history, venue management and integrity checks. See the Privacy Policy for details.
Third-party games
Racing Control is separate from every simulator it connects to. Technical support for a title does not include the game, its content or permission to use it commercially. The operator must obtain and maintain all required game, content and commercial-use licenses. Additional simulator integrations will be released only when technically ready and appropriately licensed.
Updates and support
Hot Lap may provide fixes, compatibility work and product updates. An update may be required for security or online services. A lifetime license does not guarantee every future major product, paid add-on, simulator integration or third-party service. We will identify separately sold items before charging for them.
Ownership
Racing Control is licensed, not sold. Hot Lap and its licensors own the software, design, code, documentation and all related intellectual property. The customer receives only the rights expressly granted by this EULA.
No official timing
Racing Control is built for entertainment, event operations and promotional competitions. It is not certified motorsport timing equipment. Telemetry, mods, game updates, peripherals and network conditions may affect a result.
Warranty
To the fullest extent allowed by law, the software is provided “as is” without implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose or non-infringement. If delivery or activation is defective, contact support so we can repair, replace or reissue access. Mandatory rights remain unaffected.
Liability
To the fullest extent allowed by law, Hot Lap is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, lost revenue, interruption, venue downtime or lost data. Total liability relating to the software will not exceed the amount paid for the affected license. These limits do not apply where prohibited by law.
Termination
This EULA remains in effect until terminated. It terminates if the customer materially breaches it and does not cure the breach after notice where a cure is reasonably possible. On termination, the customer must stop using and uninstall the software. Provisions that by their nature should survive will survive.
General
The customer must comply with applicable export, sanctions and trade laws. If one term is unenforceable, the rest remains effective. Applicable law and courts are those of the place where Hot Lap has its principal business office, unless mandatory local law requires otherwise.
